How Do They Work?

LEDs use light emitting diodes to produce light. This is much different than older-style holiday lights, which used incandescent-style lamps. Incandescent lamps rely on a filament, which is charged with electricity and becomes white-hot—producing light. These filaments can burn out or break, and when this happens the bulb must be replaced. Another nice feature of LEDs is that the bulb is plastic, instead of glass. This helps reduce our cost of replacement and enables us to pass the savings on to you.

Safety

Safety and efficiency are the main reasons that LED lighting is quickly becoming the standard for holiday lighting. Since LED lights operate more efficiently than traditional holiday bulbs, they are safer for use on cut trees.

Efficiency

LEDs lights use 90% less electricity than traditional-style bulbs. (See chart below.) This translates into a big savings on your electrical bills, while reducing the impact on the environment.

Longer Life

LEDs outlive traditional incandescent Christmas lights substantially.
